Ingredients

  • 1½ pounds hamburger
  • 1 package taco seasoning mix
  • 1 can kidney beans
  • taco chips, crushed
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 small can tomato sauce
  • cheese, grated
  • ½ cup minute rice, optional

Method

  1. Brown meat and onion, then add taco mix and water according to package directions.
  2. If adding rice, add 1/2 cup more water.
  3. Put rice in the bottom of a greased pan.
  4. Simmer meat mixture and tomato sauce 20 minutes.
  5. Add beans and pour mixture over rice in pan.
  6. Add cheese.
  7. Top with crushed chips.
  8. Bake 20 minutes at 325°.
