Oven quick oven · 375–400 °F · 190–205 °C
Ingredients
- 2 cupsful cooked meat, cold
- 1½ cupsful gravy or brown sauce
- 4 cupsful mashed potatoes, hot
- 3 tablespoonsful milk, hot
- salt and pepper, to taste
Method
- Cut meat into small pieces, mix with the gravy, and add seasonings.
- A very small piece of bay leaf makes a pleasing addition if the meat is beef.
- Beat the potatoes to make them light and add the milk.
- Place the prepared meat in a deep pie dish and cover evenly with the hot mashed potatoes.
- Place bits of butter over the potatoes and brown in a quick oven.
A good way to utilize left-over meats.
