Shepherd's Pie

Oven 350° · 175 °C15-20 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey, browned and drained well
  • 1 medium onion
  • 15 oz can mixed vegetables, drained
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • ¾ cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • ¼ cup cheddar cheese

Method

  1. Brown the hamburger or turkey with the onion; drain well.
  2. Pour the meat mixture into a lightly greased baking dish.
  3. Add the drained mixed vegetables.
  4. In a separate bowl, stir the mashed potatoes with 3/4 cup grated cheddar cheese.
  5. Spread the potato mixture over the meat mixture.
  6. Add 1/4 cup more cheese on top.
  7. Bake at 350° for 15-20 minutes until the cheese melts.

Dated 10/25/00. Can use ground beef or ground turkey.
